Welcome to
401k, 403b, and Employer Retirement
Plans
Resource Website
The rules regarding 401k plan, 403b plan,
and other employer retirement plans can sometimes be
complicated. Many employees invest in 401k offered by their
employer without knowing
- what they are investing in,
- what mutual funds are good,
- what asset allocation they should be in,
- when can they withdraw their money,
- can they borrow against their 401k,
- what are the penalties,
- what happens to the 401k when they change jobs,
- what are the 401k rollover rules,
- etc etc
There are also investors who don't
know what an IRA is. They don't know that when they
leave their jobs, they may be rolling over their 401k into an
IRA.
This website is dedicated to
providing resources and explanations on 401, 403b, other
employer retirement plans, and 401k rollover as well as IRA
rollover rules. We also discuss the Internal Revenue Code
concerning 401k contribution limits and 401k withdrawal rules,
among other rules set forth by the Internal Revenue Code.
Doing research and finding out answers by
yourself independently of what your company tells you or your
employer retirement plan company tells you is very wise.
It is important that you know what you are investing in your
401k or 403b and to be prepared for the 401k rollover or IRA
rollover when the time comes. After all, when you are leaving
the company, your company will refer you to the retirement plan
provider such as Fidelity. And, guess what the objectives of
those plan companies are ... they are there to sell you
something else!.. so do your own mutual fund research and IRA
rollover rules research, so when they try to tell you that the
best thing for you to do is IRA rollover your entire 401k
retirement account to their company, you will have found out
for yourself if you should or not.
